christmas love

Sorry girlies about my lack of postage but things my end havnt exacily been none busy, i'm sure your understand :D
With the festive season apon us i desided to make my own cakeee.
I made this for my christmas cake, i was making a traditional one but this gluten free vegan one seemed alot better in my opinion:
eggless carrot cake
It was so nice heated up with abit of soya cream ontop








this looks massive but it wasnt, left abit obviously having to leave room for desert ;)
I used a beany soy cutlet, it worked realy well with my gluten free gravy,roast potatoes/boiled and parsnips :) e.c.t crrrannndberry sauce.


















..i may have had abit too much fun with a blow up man.. ;) oioiiii

another new tattoo...haha

ita autumn babies!



so chris has gone off skiing for a month and im a little *heart aching* but ive filled my time well ;)


and by well i meen alot of cooookinggg.....

I roasted the okra in cumin in the oven untill crispy
i got the idea from meghann and kath.



i used a little bit of cooking spray and on a realy low heat ocasionly turned the tofu over in the pan untill it was evenly golden on each side, i then added some of the masala sauce mixture into the pan, still on a low heat untill the sauce is heated through
i platted it up with my okra fries and brown rice

this was yum scrum :)


my bishbosh meal includes:

pineapple ring
brown rice
cherry tomatos
pineapple juice
chinese stir fry spice
tamari sauce
tofu cubed

i paired this meal with roasted butternut squash, my fav! and green beans :)




this was simply soya protein balls in a vegan cream cheeze and cheeze slices and chive sauce i made, i added spices, tomatoes, chopped broccoli and a ton of random things i dont remeber but clearly from the picture some pumpkin seeds were present :)
i used the leftover okra in paprika and tomato/garlic/herbed rice :)


I got my new uggs :) my old ones i have had for a year and are looking abit ergh after too much wearing :p

EDITED**** yes i am a vegan, im a vegan because im alergic to everything a vegan chooses not to eat, i cant eat eggs, dairy products and my body cannot break down meat, everyones aloud there own opinion, i grew up on farms and so i know that if a sheep is not shawn then it will get fly blown and so get infected wool and flesh, i have seen this and its horrible , u shear it so that it stops infection and the wool is sold on for things like uggs, but like i said everyone can do what they wish
so dont give me greif in what i choose to buy



i decided to get the button fold down one this time. i think there cuter but the £160 price tag wasnt nice :/
but totally worth it!!

its a seagull to symbolise my sailing obsession and the fact on my old house land we owned part of a beach so permently like lived on it:)

and yes.. yes it is a guy about to lick a girls stomach.. i think maybe in a weird way i was painting a guy i know ;) but ofcourse id never admit that ..teehee

alice's tea party



Did you know that the girl that was used in "alice in wonderland", the real girl it was based on is burried in lyndhurst in hampshire :)

me and dee went to look at her grave on our work break, its liturly right behind my bakery which i think is realy cool, theres alot of alice in wonderland inspired stuff here,
infact.. the tea rooms neer us is called the mad hatters ;)

black beans, brown rice (from them spanish cups i broght back) plaintan chips,





this is quite boring i guess but i thought it looked and tasted amazing :) i love braised tofu


I used this kids pasta sauce over rice pasta in this one, it was alot nicer on my stomach,its all natural with no artificial flavors or preservitives and things, its got hidden veggies in aswell, always good
my salad was baked brussel sprouts in gluten free soy sauce.


salsaaa, my family brought it back from camping un opened, couldnt resist using it in some way or another


i got this amazing book the other day on a break at work, there is this realy cheap book shop in lyndhurst that sells all books at like a small amount of the origional price, i scanned the shelfs and saw a vegan section! and for £4.99 its a barginnn! well any book less than a 5er is hehe


my boss loved the book and wants to borrow it after me :p the recipes are realy diffrent and i will be making some very soon!


ive muched down two jacket potatoes recently, gluten free spaghetti in tomo sauce is yummy!, i paired it with pinapple and tomato slices, great combo, i find soya cheese and pinapple is realy nice on a jacket



I used some left over chilli and added extra chilli to fill this jacket, was so great the two diffrent flavors, they complimented each other perfectly.




WIIIZZZZZZZ back in the time machine to the day before were we brewed a BEAST of a chilli in my mightly couldron... ok a cooking pan but still... use abit of the imagination here!

mayola, peas, mashed tofu and uncle bens chilli sauce, soo great, the rest of my family used the chilli sauce mix with real mince, i like to sometimes feel apart of the evening meal by having somthing simmilar

this seahorse necklace i bought at romsey show last weekend is the inspiration behind my next tattoo ;) (to be continued)

BACK from girona

NOTE: both mine and ollies hair are naturly curly so a holiday without straightners was..erm intresting ;) **


the first night we were there we managed to just about find somthing open in the form of a tapas all you cane at fro 9 euros,they had things from amazing vegetable and seed mixes, meats, pastas, pizzas, potatos, rices, fruits, fruitsalads, cakes and deserts
was gooood

this is a mixed salad we had in a irish bar/pub outside it was stunning and yummy.. with potato chunks, first ive had in years, i was proud of myself :)



i got round to trying figs! there was a little vegetable/fruit shop opisite our apartment which i spent alot of time in :)
sooo cheap compaired to england





we ate in one night, on the balcony which was realy pretty :) as u can imagine, ollie had a pizza but i found some vegetable incrused tofu and brown rice cuts and vegetables (i brought home a spair vege packa dn rice cups! they were THAT good)


the tofu was actually free as the shop seller gave it to me free, how nice was that?!















(LOL its ok because its the same as him in swimming trunks :p, his secound tattoo (one on the arm is only half finished the top isnt done and bottom isnt coloured)

thats an arrow to the top appart. by the way, the only one with a balcony :) yay
it went past so quickly but it was nice to just have a few days away :)
my family have gone camping to wales untill monday so im home alone, im currently making a scrap book of my holiday so might head of to boots to print out my pictures.

any recipe ideas using figs or plantain?
ive put figs in porridge aswell as micro-ing some and using it as a spread, thinking brownies or in a dinner idea?
would lovee in some sort of dinner (need using asap realy as i bought them in spain)

one thing i did NOT like from spain that i brought back was one of them doughnut peaches, i thought it was bland and made me gag :( daaaamn it

but....
i was thinking about having bean and plantain baked "dumpling" style balls in a spicy tomato sauce using the peppers and tomoatos picked from the garden?





But before i make that i made pasta bake!! ive been craving it for ages and since it was my first proper day at home i pre made it and froze it,

after baking...


i think its one of the nicest things ive ever made to be perfectly honest! yayy
ilike how bits are crispy and bits are soft
fyi its a tiny plate!


i made it with salsa, tomato and basil sauce, crumbled tofu, basil, rice pasta twists, chopped yellow and red tomatos, mushrooms, green runner beans and asparagus :)
i sprinkled grated vegan cheddar cheese on top yay

I think THIS!! cereal is amazing, it tastes so good first thing in the morning with some heated figgs added to it ;D MMMMMMM!
(doves farm organic choco stars) its my first time trying it, always seen it in tescos just never got it :)


i found that eating porridge in the morning is the thing which has been making me ill, crazy right? i was hoping that the amount of oats wouldnt bother my gluten free thing but it obviously is?
ah well cereal it is then....



so did any of you go away this summer? and were too?

im going away agai at christmas with some friends to the german christmas markets :) yay girlie trip away
and my mums gone back to kenya for work this week, love being incharge at home ;)

NEW TATTOO

GIRONA (in spain) TOMORROW!
me and ollie are just friends now, we wernt ever together but we have both moved on from our little crushes and i think it will make our friendship stronger to be honest :) still realy close with muke (his best freind) though.
I will take alot of photos of my trip and post up, hopfully i will get to try out one of their vegan resturants whilst i am there, im only going untill thursday evenining but its my first proper trip on holiday with a friend :)

I loved this :) ive eaten it twice since i bought this, secound time it hurt my tummy... i hate how my ibs chooses days and random things to upset it grrr
was realy nice finding it though, beening gluten free aswell.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

meh..looks kinda gross, typical frozen meal, loooked ok untill i froze it..
once cooked (microwave style hehe) looked burnt out, bland

plated and tasted:

YUMM it was realy nice, lots of flavor and textures, the rice went realy well and it was healthy too.

to buy or not to buy?

other things i made was a mushroom pate and vegetable pizza and strawberry scone cupcakes
, it was a mini pizza but i cut it in half so that i could enjoy it with other things :)





question:
as a trainee tattooist, i will be exspected to tattoo onto dead animals for practice, i find this a little disterbing thinking of inking onto a dead pig for 3-4 hours continiously.
whats your views on practicig on dead animals?
i know that the "skin is simmilar" and without it my tattoos on people would be terrible but still...

Blackberry ink

AAAAAAANNNNNDDDDDDD good morning to you :)



this smoothie was gorgeous, it was;
Pineapple chunks
Mango chunks
Alpo soya vanilla yoghurt

even though it tasted like one of thoughs tropical icelollys with the icecream in the middle..not complaining ;)
infact!! it tasted JUST LIKE THESE DID

the bulk of this meal was this curry (half tin) with brown rice, green beans/sweetcorn/portabello mushroom/tomato
this was it but if diffrent packaging



i realy enjoyed the taste, even if it did bear a scarily simmilar taste to that of a chicken curry, i had to check i was eating the right thing..three times!!!

quickie lunch before i went flat huntinggg, whilst reading a review of "the new forest show"


berry cheeky nakd bar with peach soy yoghurt and strawberries, i decided toeat smaller lunches but snack through out the day, works better for me :)

Sorry for the repeated sandwich but it realy was THAT GOOD that i needed to eat it again! this time i added grilled tomato slices as well as.


I know you cant really see here but this is a chopping bord that my mums boyfriend MADE for me :)
aparently my chopping is realy loud in the morning (i eat at like 6am) its realy nice though and well made.

smooth (ie) talker






I tried making my first ever green monster smoothie ! !
I decided to try this particular one for my first to "break me in" for part of my trying diffrent lunches brand new start!
recipe


i didnt use that exact amount as i just used it as a rough gideline to what ingredients to add,i didnt have any perejil (parsley-haha getting in my spanish practicing ;] ) and i used soy milk instead of almond breeze,
hmmm what else did i change? ohh yeah! i used lindseed instead of flax- oh my gosh flax is soo expensive around here:S
... well it wasnt that bad, it was nice in small doses even though thinking about it now is making me gag... i chugged it and omg i felt so sick- lindseeds in it = ewwwwwwwwwwwwww

i think im going to stick to a fruit smoothie next time :D

At the new forest show i was keen on going to the apro soya food area as i realy wanted some :)
i got a couple last year ( a whole year ago i got my call to go into an eating disorders unit.. the 4th aug i went in...)
i talked to the (cute may i add;] ) guy and said hw being vegan and gluten free there was practicaly nothing i could eat here and he looked around, said the boss was out of sight and filled a cool bag with:


*2 cartons of soya milk
* A ton of yoghurts
*Loads of money off vouchers
* Soya recipe book

was proper happy :)


i also picked up a juice book to experiment on, im loving fruit ones at the moment,they fill me up great but not in a sticky painful "chewable food way"

i made a roll for my new forest show day though, i filled it with a grilled portabello mushroom, vegan cream cheese that i got from tescos (finaly stocks it) sweetcorn and lettuce (+ herbs)


I loved the compination it was soo yummy :) defo repeating it xx


My best smoothie so far (says mich at work)
i had a coupole strawberries, loads of cherries and new vanilla flavor soy yoghurt :) it was realy good!! a realy bright red colour.
when i make it again BLATENTLY NEXT WEEEK!!!
i will photograph it ;)




a sauce from the free from organic section of tescos baked on my tofu, rested on a bed of spinach, plain and simple but very tasty


the sauce was cranks tomato/ginger/basil



update on things+++++
my tattoo place i went to not happy so im going to another one now :) i get to see ollies tattoo (half finished) tomorrow when we go shopping together :) excited!
also we finally booked for defo our holiday, were staying in an apartment 10 mins from the "old city"
its cheaper than the other place and we have our own kitchen and everything :)
were so excited now!!

5 foods i dont think i could live without are:

1* Tofu, i think i eat tofu atleast twice a week, i love at the moment braised and beech-smoked tofu mmmm
2* Dairy free chocolate spread - i have this melted over my cookies and apples as desert
3* ginger jam - i love putting it in my porridge whilst cooking, it gives it such a nice flavor

4* Mayola - ON EVERYTHINGG!!!... used to cover everything in saladcream pre-vegan so now this has turned into my new subb.
5* bananas - probibibly my most consumed fruit, i have it in anything..i at the moment like it in coconut curries


okokok most of the things on that list are sauces? but i dont care :D
a girl likes what a girl likes...

oink oink this little piggy went to market



So my lovely mother is just another case of swine flu thats sweeping over the globe...ohh dont i just LOVEE having to drive everywere for her haha



this is the puttanesca i made !



i used alot actually,olives, medeteranian pasta sauce, CAPERS, mushrooms, courgettes, kidney beans, sweetcorn, broad beans, this tofu from waitrose, its marinated in sundried tomatoes and olive oil and is realy flavorful,mixed herbs and buckwheat noodles :)
i realy loved the combination and thankfuly ihad another portion for LEFTOVERSSSS to feeze yay


I made another GLUTEN FREE pizza the other day,It looks kind of burnt but i promice it wasnt..must be the weird lighting, there just so coveniant to freeze and then pull out slices, for this pizza i only made it big enough for 4 slices but thats plenty enough of one flavor..even if it was yum!
the base was rice flour/water/cumin and herbs
I used that blackbean mash that i had the other day for dinner in a previous post as a sauce base.. to be honest i just defrosted a random sauce container from my freezer and put it on but it worked well,
i covered it in the usuals like capers, sweetcorn, potato slices, spinach and a cherry tomato ring around the edge,




using some left over pasta sauce i coated my tofu and spuds and baked them in the oven, the tofu in gluten fre breadcrumbs, it was realy crispy on the outside and soft in the middle.. perfect



so far ive had two slices for dinner one night, in a picture above, and a slice with some grapfruit salad for lunch :)

At work sometimes its kind of hard to deside what to eat for my lunch break.
yeah its easy enough to pack a salad or some sort of gluten free sandwich but after months and months it sure gets boring.

welcome a warmed up bowl of V8 vegetable juice with taco shells broken up for dipping and a soy yoghurt :) bliss




i cant beelive its been a year since i last talked about my sisters birthday cake, well this time ive done it again :)
but made it with loads of bits and pieces on, i took a peice to work and my boss was so happy with it that shes comisioning me to bake cakes at work to sell in the bakery :D and sending me on a day release course yaaaay




me my mum and her boyfriend, my youngest sister and ollie went to see harry potter the other day and i dont think i liked it as much as the last ones, i think because it was as well as it is.. leading up to a massive battle and so i know KNOW the next is going to be amazing.


Ollie and i are off to girona in late august :) i must say im realy excited, its just us two and weve managed to get a realy cheap deal for it.


Girona is in spain quite close to barcelona on the costa brava.



Its full of great buildings and views from gothic cathedrals, museums, amazing picture opertunies.oh btw ollie said he wants to be in a relationship and i said no, im stupid but i think it would be best all around, im worried that if we got together somthing bad might happen before we go and then we end up canceling or somthing?

a stuffed red pepper with cannellini beans, tinned tomato in tomato juice and Orgran Rice & Corn Risoni (Pilaf) Garlic & Herb packet which was a recent buy from a health food shop i didnt know about, yay!





and simple mushroom rice with "staggs vegetable chilli" from tescos, i used broken up taco shells for dipping too :)

Berry nice



love when the strawberries come out.

I used up the left over black beans for a new dish.
I slightly mushed up the black beans and added in a caper/mushroom/olive tomato sauce mixture and let it chill in the fridge overnight.


So the following night i had it with baby potatoes, a mixed salad and courgette slices, was realy nice actually!
I recon this would work well in mexican dishes or in jacket potatoes.. the list is endless
To be honest ive enjoyed making new meals that dont always involve tofu..major rut
but ofcourse...there has to be tofu dishes in here somewere!! hehe

I like experimenting with diffrent tofu flavors and this was no exception.


I made a mixture of lemon juice, tamari and mixed herbs, i dipped the tofu in the sauce and then baked it in the oven usuing a tin foil pouch full of the lemon juice.
for the last 10 mins i opened the wrapper and let it crisp up slightly,

The potatoes are also cooked in the same mixture.

I did somthing a tad diffrent this time, i maranated the tofu in orange juice and peel over night aswell as my potato slices,
I baked it in the oven for 30 mins with orange slices


BLACK BEAN BURGERS!!


Many times before i have attempted these but this time i was determined.
I liturly mashed up some blackbeans with tamari sauce and coated it in soya milk,
i then covered it in gluten free bread crumbs and baked it in the oven for 30 mins.
and lastly i grilled it slightly to crisp it up.


In my next post im going to cover the Puttanesca that was sugested :D
and some more awesome caper recipes.

Tattoo Monsters

Hiya bayybayys ;)

so i decided i wanted to start regular postings again :) for shitz'n'gigglez
(i duno if people say that were your from?)
i went to somerset for a fewe days and it was beautiful :) we stayed in self-catering as it was easier for a quick break, aswell as a summer break i think im going away with friends aswel :)

well not when working in the kitchen at work! hot pasty ovens= OWWWWWWCH THE HEATTT

im drawing my new tattoo design at the moment but i cant seem to get it right, ideas?

In the week thats past ive worked alot but also had time to fit in a fun weekend :)
me and ollie.. this boy that my psycic said i would get with.. (kindaa have ;)spoooky) i only met him a couple weeks ago off facebook LOL! and i get on amazing with his best friend aswell
so baasicialy he invited me to his 18th family bbq (well his best mate and a girl we know was there) and i baked a cake :) was such a great time and fingers crossed this wont turn into what happened last time with james... ergh rough time that was :(



I enjoyed this scrummy lunch zee other day, with ofcourse some cherry and berry fruit juice :), it contained brown rice aswell.. hidden deep deeep below haha

I made a quick and easy dinner the other night, dont you find the heat effects your apitite for long cooking?!?
this was tofu in a tomoto caper and basil sauce, it compimented eachother perfectly.






Blueberry cookies, i used agave nectar to sweeten them aswell as a spoon of blueberry jam :)




and finaly half a pasty i had for lunch that i made, its full of seasoned bbq mushrooms, maranaded peppers, lemon grass e.c.t including spinach
was nice seing as im alergic to gluten to have a pasty :) even if the pastry was abit weird texture
btw that cucumber slice was the size od like a small marrow infact i stuffed one and had it like a stuffed marrow (more on that next timeee) LOVE HOME GROWN ONES , LOVE U GRANDADD :D
(fyi thats toasted polenta cubes)





QUESTION:

are you going on holiday this year? would u rather go with friends or family? do you prefer relaxing pool/beach or full on exploaring?

i personly prefer to explore as i feel i could just go to the beach back home :p

Cow Bum

Good day my little peanuts!

I love having the weekend off!
Unfortuntly my boss said that i HAVE to work the weekend at the end of the month as "im part of a team and i'm needed" aparnetly its selfish of me to not? she even shouted at me! it was abit out of order to be honest seing as i work al week and its a damn long day!

anyway..
after all that my lovely mum booked a coule nights self catering in Somerset! sunday the 28th untill the 30th, its not long but its long enough as were all going through some difficult times and need a tiny btit away before our holiday to kenya in july.
I'm dreading asking my boss for the day off though! eeeek

Were taking my little doggy izzy along with us so alot of biking and walking and sight seeing :).. maybe getting to see some of the local eye candy? ..i got to stop thinking of boys!

speaking of izzy...
today me and my mum decided to take her for her usual walk but this time to were our ponies are kept in some feilds the other side of Beaulieu, ofcourse if anyone has been to beaulieu or the new forest in hampshire in jenural you would know that the "new forest ponies" run all over the place, people think there whild but they do infact have owners, i will post pictures of some of our ponies on the forest's foals when i upload the pictures of when me and my ex were walking on the forest and saw them!

anyway theres aso other things on the forest like pigs and cows (i swear its not a hick area!! its actually very expensive to live in the new forest :S.. think its paying for the views)

OH i did a car boot sale today with my mum and i sold a canvas !
it wasnt great so was glad to say good bye to it!

I just finished my Art+Design first deploma BTEC and got 4 distinctions and an award!
I'm currently on a gap year so working in a bakery to earn some £££'s and keep myself busy :) I was always a vegetarian and found that vegan fitted in better with my lifestyle as i am alergic to dairy/gluten/chickpeas aswell as alot of other foods that hurt my tummy (ibs is hell :/)
